Tragedy On The Water

Bluefields, RAAS, Apr. 23-19 year old twin brothers Ralston and Rendell Palmer was wrapping up a days work on the water as they do every day when tragedy strucked. Ralston and Rendell headed out this morning to fish as they do everyday.  It was around 10:00 AM this morning when they threw the last net and headed for home. As they approached Old Bank point, the rope that balance the canoe (dory) snapped. The canoe turned over and Ralston fell over board . That was the last time he was seen. Luckily Rendell was able to hold on and was rescued.

Although the brothers make their living from fishing none of them could swim. As of 2:30PM the body of Ralston has not been found. The red cross, the fire department and friends are all involved in the search.

Ralston was the grandson of Mr. Eddie Clair and Ms. Rebbeca Callins. Ironically a few years ago Mr. Pampi, the grand uncle of Ralston and Rendell drowned in the area of Pointeen. Ralston and Rendell lived in the gully area of Old Bank.

Our condolences go out the family of Ralston and Rendell.
