After
66 years,
Rosita
Florence Mouton
completed her life’s journey on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 in Limon,
Costa Rica.
Rosita
was born on October 25, 1941 to the late Halstead and
Florence Omeir-Hodgson in Bluefields, Nicaragua. While there, she was
a committed member of Revival Tabernacle Evangelist Church under the
leadership of Brother Emory and Sister Betty Wine. As a faithful
member of the church, she worked diligently to help support her church
and family. Rosita loved to sing in the choir and play the piano by
ear. At the tender age of 27, she left the comfort of her parents’
home and beloved country and traveled to the United States to provide
a better life for her and family where she resided with her eldest
sister, Frieda Joseph.
While
living in Washington, DC, she met her husband of 39 years, Joseph
Allen Mouton, and through this union they were blessed with four
beautiful children; Jeffrey Lee, Terry Allen, Miguel Antonio and
Natasha Lynn.
Rosita was a devoted
member of Faith Moravian Church where she sang with the Chancellor
choir. She supported the efforts and accomplishments of her family
and friends faithfully.
In addition to mothering and nurturing her family, her
life was one of quiet pioneering and complete selflessness. This was
true of her job as well, a hard and dedicated worker. Rosita was
viewed as extended family to the Madaleno’s and the Newman’s who she
worked with for over 30 years. She was a confidante, friend, and
supporter to many. Rosita shared her many life experiences with hopes
of soothing, encouraging or inspiring. The world is a better place
from having her here for 66 years. We will miss her dearly but will
never forget her teachings, inspirations, and devotion to God. Rest in
peace…Job well done!
Rosita is survived by

Allen Mouton, three beloved sons; Jeffrey Lee (Adela), Terry Allen
