Old Bank One Game Away From Winning The  2002 Championship

Bluefields, RAAS, Mar. 23-Local baseball championship series continue today at 12:00PM between Old Bank and Pointeen. Old Bank leads the series 3-1 and if they are victorious today they will be champions of 2002. Old Bank is hoping to redeem themselves from the devastating lost they suffered last year in the last game of the championship series when Cotton Tree came from behind in the seventh to beat them and claimed the championship.

During the playoff this year it seems as though they were going to be a rematch between the two teams but Cotton Tree was beaten by both Old Bank and Pointeen killing any chance of them defending their championship. Fans were a bit disappointed to know the defending champions will not be there to defend the crown. The fans from the Barrio of Old Bank can taste victory today and hope that their team will come out on top. In the past few years they have come so close only to be disappointed in the end.

Manager Oscar Bent a.k.a. (Bobby Cox) is very confident in his players especially his pitching staff. He is counting especially on the pitching of Mark Narcisso and Richard Sharp Jr. Bent is also counting on the bats of Norberto Ortega (chancherro), Dwayne Murray and Dave Wilson (Pakin). Bent is keeping his lips lock as to who will start today’s game but the experts are saying he will go with Richard Sharp Jr. (Tachad) as he dominates the Pointeen team over and over again.
